2- What is the Chinese government's plan to improve the situation?

  2. 1. According to Dr. Zhou, the conflict between humankind and nature is that humans are "depleting, deteriorating, and exhausting" resources provided by nature.

    2. The Chinese government has come up with a 5-year plan to restrict emissions in order to help the environment. They have prioritized economic growth more so than the environment and they aim to change this by growing economically in a way that is better for the environment. However, Andrew Jacobs (author) believes that China will not go through with this plan because in the past, China has made promises to saving the environment but did not go through with any of their promises so it is likely that they will do the same now.

  3. 1. The cause of the conflict between humankind and nature is that the depletion, deterioration and exhaustion of resources and the worsening ecological environment has created problems in the environmental condition in China and started to threaten human life.

    2. The Chinese Government has come up with a plan to restrict emissions in order to preserve the environment. They are trying to improve the environment by to improve his country’s energy efficiency closing down more than 2,000 steel mills, cement plants and other energy-hogging factories in the next 5 years to better the environment and living conditions in China.

  4. 1. Humans are using resources too fast and while this leads to enormous growth in the short run, it will catch up to them in the long run, when the environment is no longer usable.

    2. It is planning to reduce emissions and put more of a focus on the environment rather than the growth.

  5. 1. The cause of "the conflict between humankind and nature" is the depletion, deterioration and exhaustion of resources.

    2. The Chinese government's plan to improve the situation is to restrict the amount of emissions produced to help China's environment. They also would like to focus their attention more on the environment and they would like to start by closing many factories that produce CO2 emissions.

  6. 1 Unbridled growth in China has led to dangerous pollution levels and a depletion of resources. China is the leading emitter of greenhouse gasses because of its dependence on coal for 70 percent of its energy needs. China's leadership recognizes that they need to balance the economic growth with the public's demand for uncontaminated food and water.

2 China's government is setting a goal of cutting energy use for each unit of economic growth. They hope to achieve this by becoming more efficient in their use of energy. In addition to closing inefficient plants and factories, the Communist Party plans to crack down on environmental abuse by industry.

  7. 1. The amount of taking without replenishing what is been taken is the reason for the conflict between humans and nature. The amount of depletion that humans are inflicting will sooner then later catch up with us, and we will have to deal with the repercussions. This is because we are making the environment unsustainable for our growing populations

    2. The Chinese government is planning on bring attention to the amount of CO2 being produce, and create regulations to cut down the amount of emissions that they are producing

  8. 1. The conflict between humans and natur is the fact that humans are constantly using up natural resources and nature cannot sustain this activity.

    2. The government is planning a five year policy that will prioritize environmental concerns, cutting C)2 emissions being produced by the country.

  10. 1. The cause of conflict between humankind and nature is that we are "depleting, deteriorating, and exhausting" nature. This causes harm to the natural ecosystem because we are disrupting and destroying it.
    2. The Chinese government is planning to restrict emissions, becoming more energy efficient, and close 2,000 factories. But, looking at the Chinese history, we see that their past environmental interventions did not end being executed, so we can not assume that this plan will be used.

  12. THe conflict that has become more relevant in recent years is that the human population pays little attention to the environment and there is also little done to protect it. Ecosystems are slowly dying due to the fact that humans have almost disregarded the environment in the building of civilizations.

the gov is going to have less factories that will be more efficeint in the way they produce energy. They plan to reduce CO2 emmisions and make a healthier city environment.

  13. 1. The cause of the conflict between humankind and nature, according to Mr. Zhou, is the depletion, deterioration and exhaustion of resources. As China initiate more development, this stresses the issue of what climate change do these contribute to the environment.

    2. They introduced the country’s latest five-year economic plan. To improve the situation, China’s top economic planning agency, the National Development and Reform Commission, were reluctant to sacrifice economic growth for environmental protection. According to Mr. Wen, he says that "We must not any longer sacrifice the environment for the sake of rapid growth... as that would result in unsustainable growth featuring industrial overcapacity and intensive resource consumption." Overall, they need to find a balance between economic growth and with the public’s demands.
